Cooking Classes
To anyone who ever sat down at his or her favorite restaurant and thought, “Gee, I wish I could cook like this,” we would like to say: “Now, you can!”
Come join us at Hackett House cooking classes and learn to cook like the pros.
At Hackett House, you can learn how to prepare delectable-tasting treats from around the world in classes taught by the Valley’s favorite chefs.

Dinner Party Cooking Classes
Doors open at 6:00 pm for happy hour and gift shop browsing. Classes start at 6:30 pm and end at 9:00 pm.
All classes are held on our private outdoor patio. Door prizes will be awarded, including gift certificates to featured restaurants as well as many other fabulous prizes.
Prices are $50.00 per person unless otherwise noted.
Thursday, March 8, 2012, Dinner Party Cooking Class with Chef Kim Lahn
Kim Lahn’s passion for cooking and her desire to find a healthier way of eating after beating breast cancer gave birth to her blog: Veg-In-Training. Kim, a culinary school graduate, has also appeared on Channel 12′s Valley Dish. Her menu will feature locally grown produce from Horny Toad Farms in Phoenix. Her menu will include Red Inca Quinoa Sweet Potato Cakes with Tomatillo Avocado Sauce; Fennel and Savoy Salad with Arizona Orange Cilantro Dressing garnished with Cocoa Toasted Pepitas; Chorizo and Cornbread Stuffed Chiles with Guajillo Chile Sauce served with a Local Squash and Kale Bake; Carmelized Wilcox Apple Stuffed Blue Corn Crepe with Sweet Cashew Cream; and Maple Glazed Arizona Pecans and Prickly Pear Balsamic Syrup.

Tuesday, March 20, 2012, Dinner Party Cooking Class with Chef Kelly Fletcher from House of Tricks
Bob Trick, owner/Chef at House of Tricks, will introduce his Chef Kelly Fletcher who will conduct the class. They will bring complimenting wines for each course. The menu includes Frisee, Micro Arugula and Micro Radish Salad with Shaved Manchego, Anjou Pear, Cranberry, Pepitas and Pepper-Sherry Vinaigrette; Seared Fromage d’Affinois with Strawberry Preserves, Rosemary Syrup and Crusty Ciabatta; and Ancho Chile Seared Rare Ahi Tuna with White Bean-Guajillo Ragou with Orange-Chipotle Honey Aioli, Pepitas and Micro Cilantro.

Lee Hillson from the Royal Palms, T. Cooks Restaurant, with be preparing a very special Spring Menu featuring…A Salad of Peas with Mint, Goat Cheese, Walnuts, Frisee and Watercress; An Entree of Slow Roasted Lamb stuffed with Euro Cream on Roasted Vegetables; Dessert featuring Vanilla Panna Cotta topped with Melted Berry Fondue.

NEW! Lunch and Learn Cooking Classes with JoAnne Groot.
This is a demonstration type class held in the intimate kitchen setting of the Hackett House complete with take-away recipes and techniques you will have learned from JoAnne. Fun for a girls get-together or if you just want to expand your culinary skills. JoAnne has designed the classes so there is something for everyone.
Classes are from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm and are offered at the introductory price of $35.00 per class.
