Geography Bee

For over twenty years, Hackett House and the Tempe District Elementary Schools have collaborated to bring our community’s children the Tempe Sister Cities Geography Bee.

Bee winnersHeld at City Hall every year, the winner of each school’s Geography Bee for grades four through eight competes for the chance to win the overall Tempe Sister City Geography Bee.

In the past years, two Tempe Sister City finalists have made it all the way to the National Geography Bee!

This event is open to the public: everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend. Details are available at Tempe grade schools or by calling Hackett House at 480-350-8181. For information on this year’s dates and times,  please check our events calendar.

Do you like to work with youngsters? Then we invite you to explore the volunteer opportunities at Hackett House

When you volunteer for one of the Hackett House Children’s Programs, your work helps our community in two important ways:

  1. You help the Tempe kids of today learn about their world to become the leaders of tomorrow.
  2. Your efforts help provide funding for the important programs of our parent organization, Tempe Sister Cities.
If you would like to volunteer for any of our Children’s programs, please email our Volunteer Coordinator to find out how you can help.
