Tempe’s Sister City in China is Zhenjiang. Come and celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year at the Hackett House with authentic Asian food and Lion Dancers. You will be benefiting our non-profit at the same time!

Farm to Table Modern Bavarian Dinner

*Food Network Star Jeff Kraus and Chopped Champion Chef Adam Allison will bring a whimsical and playfully refined approach to this dining experience.

*Chef Jeff Kraus, owner of Crepe Bar is one of the city’s most influential chefs, which has received many ‘best of’ lists since opening in 2010.

*Chef Adam Allison, owner of Handlebar Diner and Brightside Burgers, has a passion for all things culinary and is rivaled only by his focus on enriching his community through his various charity works.

The following menu has been created for the night and there are two options for the main course:

Celebrate Ireland!

An evening to celebrate Ireland and an early St. Patrick’s Day.

An Irish meal prepared by Chef Steve Goumas (former owner of Rula Bula)

Menu: Charcuterie Board, traditional brown bread with smoked salmon; Irish holiday salad with Irish inspired dressing, Gaelic chicken sautéed with mushrooms and Irish creme sauce, sautéed broccoli and garlic, Dublin’s glazed carrots, bread pudding with Irish whiskey sauce

There will be traditional Irish dancing by the Celtic Steps.

Music provided by Brid Dower and Big Fellahs.

Guinness and Jameson Irish Whiskey tastings will be available.

A Swedish Feast and Cultural Event

Experience traditions and cuisine from one of Tempe’s Sister Cities – Trollhättan, Sweden.

Lianne Falk, Chef and a resident of Sweden returns to the Hackett House patio. Lianne has lived and worked in 9 countries and 4 continents.

Chef Falk has worked with many discerning clients including international airlines delivering her culinary skills.

Menu:

A traditional salad; a Swedish Smörgåsbord (did you know the Smorgasbord originated in Sweden?); a main of roasted salmon and traditional köttbullar (meatballs) – both in a delectable sauce; and a traditional dessert of Äppelkaka – a rich glazed cake with apples, almonds.

Included are a signature cocktail – a Swedish Holiday – made with Roxx Vodka – a sponsor – and an additional beverage of choice (beer, wine, soft drinks). There will be the option of purchasing additional beverages.

Enjoy the meal and experience the traditions, language, and culture of Sweden.

Note: The proceeds of the dinner go to benefit Tempe Sister Cities in their 50 year legacy of educating students and adults about the world around us. A sampling of the programs include student, educator, and professional exchanges with our Sister Cities around the world.

ALSO NOTE: We are watching the new variant of Covid-19, Omicron, closely. Be assured that if it appears that we will not be able to host a large event on our patio, we will happily refund all monies.
